Moon's Kitchen makes you feel like you are part of a really great little town. The people are friendly and the food is down-home goodness. Mmmm, I'm looking forward to a hot mouth-watering chicken sandwich with crinkly fries with a chocolate milk shake -- yes, that tantalizing milk shake everyone mentions whenever Moon's name comes up.
I'll be playing every First Sunday between 11:30 and 2:30. I'll serenade you with songs to remember me by -- some that you've heard before like Grandma's House or The North End of Town and some brand new like that one I wrote about Books a few months ago.

Woman Of Steel Gallery is a world unto its own. You have to see it to believe it!! Eclectic Urban with the Softness of Feminine Mystique, metal sculpture has never been more inviting and whimsical. The Gallery owner, Irene Deely, is an artistic genius at metal sculpture, yet she is friendly and approachable with layers of depth and beauty.
Stop in and say hi and take a good look around!

If that weren't enough, this non-profit venue donates all its proceeds to benefit Chapel Missions.
And I haven't even mentioned the FOOD yet! The last time I was privileged to partake, I devoured a turkey croissant sandwich with pasta salad and BAKLAVA! (a Near Eastern pastry made of many layers of paper-thin dough with a filling of ground nuts, baked and then drenched in a syrup of honey!)
Hope to see you there (even if I DO have to share the pastry)!

Had a really great night at the Red Letter. It was the 2nd time I played there and am so impressed with the very fine staff that work there. Plus it's just a fine venue all the way around. Lots of books to browse thru and perfect place for conversation and music. So fun to see old friendss and meet new ones! Thank you Red Letter for the invite! :-)
north side of Chinden just east of Orchard building with the rounded front (next to a furniture store)
had a really great time playing here! the atmosphere and acoustics lent themselves well to my music, the owners and staff are really really nice folks and they are all cute AND intelligent!; and mustn't forget the tasty-must-return-for-more coffee!
AND the bookstore located on the 2nd floor was a hit with my family and friends. we all ended up there by 9pm and hung out gabbing and perusing the old classics that owner Amanda Patchin (who was a lit major in college we were told) hand picked herself. i actually bought an antique book that dates back to the 1800s -- 'The Whittier Book of Birthdays'
So, a memorable experience all the way around. Check out the pictures in my photo section that i managed to remember to take -- although i need to get a memory card (for my mind as well as the camera) so i can remember to take more... so, please forgive if you were not in the pics (i'll do better next time!!)

I'll be playing selections from the album as well as old favorites! I'll also have a little help from a few musician friends of mine to make the night even more special. And if YOU come, it'll be just about heaven so I hope to see you there! :)
What a great night this turned out to be! Lots of folks came out and it felt more like a party than just a show. Had fun jamming with Brad and Maria, seeing friends, old and new, and had a great turn out from my family as well! Everyone loves the artwork on the CD (thanks to Andy) and can't wait to go home and hear the tunes! I think it was a pretty good holiday kick-off! Now if I could only get some shopping done...gaaaah. I haven't even started.
Owner and sculptor, Ilene Deely with co-owner, Bob Deely, is hosting a reception for artist, Dave Thomas, that is open to the public. His avant-garde paintings and drawings are stunning in this aesthetic and innovative showroom.
My music will help contribute to the ambience of this atmospheric evening.
Well, I think I've met the NICEST people on the earth. Bob and Irene Deely are so hospitable and creative. What a lovely combination to see in action. Irene's metal sculpture is stunning throughout the gallery from the wine bar she designed and created herself to the one-of-a kind curtain rods. This gallery could stand on its own in New York City, but neither of them allow their cosmopolitan inventiveness to create distance between themselves and people, but instead use it as a bridge to making people feel welcome and special. They hosted a reception for Dave Thomas who was equally approachable, explaining the thoughts and techniques behind his abstract paintings and drawings. His innovative art pulls you in and you find out what a great guy he is too. Most of the people who showed stayed a good portion of the night, lingering over hors d'oerves, wine and conversation. Oh, ya, and MUSIC...I guess that's why I was there, wasn't it?? I really enjoyed playing there and feel like I've found new kindred spirit friends.
